This work salutes the works of Robert Mapplethorpe (1946–1989). The artist copies the actions shown in seven of Mapplethorpe’s classic photographs, with each action depicting a murder of its predecessor. Named “Fugue” after the complex and meticulous musical form, this work constantly flashes with the artist’s obsession with reproduction and urge to backtrack to an inquiry into theory.
